My Muse

It’s as if you make my fingers type somehow
Lure thoughts from my lips, staining the paper
– with inspiration
There are days when you tire me
Incessantly driving my mind forward
Creating strings of words ,that take form
Just a line or two at first
Then suddenly a whole cacophony
Of symphonies: the muse in triumph
And unbeknownst to most, you sit
Perched firmly in my chest
Your voice at the forefront of my mind

Go on, you say
Write it – write it all out
Write it for me

Winds of change

Ever get those days when you feel on the very edge of change and you fear somewhere deep inside that something unknown is about to snap and leave you blowing about in the wind. You get that little unsettling feeling in your stomach as it lurches towards the what ifs and the who knows, and the knowledge that you are not in the safe and secure place that you imagined yourself to be in.

Two goals, one blog?

So I have been thinking lately that sometimes I need extra motivation to write rather than just waiting for inspiration. Whilst I think my best poems are actually created in that random way, I know that if I can just start writing then often new ideas with follow.

So with that in mind I began to look around for a new goal and also remembered (Ok so I discovered by email) that I had already signed up for an April challenge, and had since found another one. So hopefully it won’t upset anyone to be able to combine the two and I thought I would share the links here in case you were looking for an extra nudge to create too,

A-Z ChallengeΒ  – Writing a poem every day except on Sundays & maybe even linking it to a theme of your choice

Campnanowrimo – Writing daily with encouragement from other people (cabinmates) , seems a fun way to bounce ideas around

Why not let me know if you are planning to join in with either so I can keep an eye out for your posts πŸ™‚
