A-Z Challenge: Zen-like Z

A-Zzz

Angry affection as an artform
Blood burning beneath breathless bodies
Corny conversation conceives comedy
Exceeding expectations extravagantly
Frantic and furious foreplay
Gleefully grabbing gadgets
Hopefully hollering happiness
Instead I, Internally
Judged Jesus, joyfully
Keenly knew kind kinkyness
Loved lucious limelight
Made music, marvelling my muse
Nobody noticed nicely nurturing needs
Opened over orange optimism
Peeling passion, pleasure-perfection
Quill quoting quiet quivers
Remembering regrets: reminiscing
Secretly smiled silences started
Tantilising tragedy towards
Unspoken, unsaid
Volcanic
Words, wrestled with
X’s
Yours,
Zealously zoning ZZZ’s

This last finale piece was inspired by a fellow blogger found during my A-Z Challenge & NaPoWriMo month of April – which I think just epitomises the whole nature of these wonderful events.

Hope you all had a fun month like I did 🙂

A-Z Challenge: Writing W

This one was written with the NaPoWriMo prompt in mind – where the poem should tell a story and to be written in reverse. I tried to make this one able to flip both ways: let me know which version you prefer.

Wrestling with desire

She sits alone scribbling her woes to a moleskin notebook
The train rattles past trees and houses: a slow blur of green and slate
She wonders if this is all just a bad idea, doubt dragging her through existance
Registering the stark carridge as she adjusts her luggage: so full of potential and sadness
They kiss in the station, her toes straining to greet his welcoming lips.
Walking hand in hand they share a glancing smile
Within the safe confines of the hotel they thrive, sharing an equal hunger
She tears the pineapple from it’s patterned skin, he licks the sticky juice from her lips
The wrestled sheets lie revealingly against heated skin
He curls an arm around her sholder, as she nestles into his angles
She wakes in the morning eyes still half closed, a sly smirk on her lip

Self Alienation

Self Alienation

The slow suction of life itself
Trickles down my brain
Finding its way past hope,
disillusionment,
Self absorption.
Seeping into the world of me
Vintage doors pinned open
Wide to see – another nail
A second plank over the entrance
Of the place I call home
A fortress of lies
Beyond a moat of shadows
That’s where you’ll find me
Locked in dingy dungeons
Of my own design.

A-Z Challenge & NaPoWriMo – J.11

Thought I would combine my A-Z Challenge with the NaPoWriMo prompt for today: hope this goes down the right way 😉

New Jesus

Nothing like the old one
Gone are the ragged locks,
the disheveled robe
His weathered, withered skin.
In place of bones
There hang, jewels of sweat
Clinging to suntanned pecs

I like how he makes me feel
As I watch him pour life into beings
that hang, fragile and frightened.
They way he encourages them
Helps them fulfill their potential
in a way that only he can.

I admire the warm glow of his presence.
The smile he brings to my lips when near.
Miraculous tricks, yielding better results
– than the old Jesus.

Though I can’t understand
Why my husband doesn’t like the new gardener

A-Z Challenge: Happy H

I thought for this one I would mix up my A-Z Challenge of letter H and the NaPoWriMo prompt

Books and poetry are both things which make me happy so this is my ‘book spine’ poem

IMAG1758_BURST002_1.jpg

From Fear to Happiness

What if, I
Daughter of smoke and bone
Walked hand in hand
With the Gargoyle
In the rose labyrinth
Where he cast off the helmet of horror
Put aside his dark reign
And gave me his heartstone
As the last wish
to the mirror of the Gods
And in the beating of his wings
I let you go

NaPoWriMo -Say what scares you

Words left unsaid

Sometimes I feel I would eat you alive
Merge my face into your supple chest
and blend our bodies together.
To peel off your skin
make you into a coat
So I can wear you all day
Entwine limbs and lungs,
solder lips and tongues.
Press my bones against yours
until the imprint is visible
for all to see,
to show you just
how deeply I am into you

Tritina revisited – NaPoWriMo

In Safe Waters

It silently calls to her
Invisible evaporation of water
Thoughts like waves: a sea

of emotion, that yearns for the sea
Oceans impatiently awaiting her
Ready with translucent arms of water

Encouraging her, child of the water
Imploring her thirst – taste of the sea
Reluctantly accepting its connection to her

Returning to the sea: her heavenly water haven – her home

I gave up the first day I tried using this form but something called me back to it, possibly my stubbornness but hey whatever works – Check out the original NaPoWriMo prompt here

A-Z Challenge: Extra E

Since I kind of cheated you guys yesterday and might not have met expectations, I thought I would share the real poem I was trying to write for E.

Initially I was trying to be clever and combine A-Z Challenge with the NaPoWriMo prompt but I couldn’t quite word this the way I wanted to, however now I am happy with this poem, I thought I would share and hope you enjoy a little extra one.

Building Excitement

It begins a delicate kiss
Smirking lips pressed against smooth skin
Curved apprehension – just the tip
held against anticipation
Glistening membrane
paused before my mouth

At your insistence
I release my jaw: form an O
Slide my lips slowly around
bloated circumference
and suck

Holding still
mouth filled with pleasure
Until you let out a gasp
And I can no longer hold back
My body shaking

The egg emerges as I giggle
See I told you, I could fit it whole!

NaPoWriMo: Day 4

My take on the prompt given by NaPoWriMo

The Month Without Him

The cruellest month is upon us,
we have to see it through,
every day from start to end
without a word from you

I told you I could cope with it
I said I would be strong
You laughed at my reaction
and said a month’s not long

The first week saw me pine for you
The second I was sad
The third week, I was coping
It didn’t seem too bad

A week to go, I’d found a niche
Enjoyed our time apart
The bed was mine, the house was clean
And that was just a start

I’d lost a stone, and bought new clothes
caught up with all my friends
The milk was never left to spoil
I went out on weekends

The bins they still got emptied
The broken shelf got fixed
Tins still got recycled
Laundry stayed unmixed

That forth week, flew
right on by,
without me feeling blue
And now I’m counting
down the days,
to next month without you

NaPoWriMo -Day 3

Well today I wanted to add a poem using the NaPoWriMo prompt which suggested writing a fan mail letter to someone like a celebrity or a historic figure perhaps. So I sat, and I thought, and mostly drew a blank at this, even though I could think of people I admired throughout history I couldn’t really pin a poem down to one person.

So instead someone from CampNaNoWriMo suggested I might use people I knew and i thought well that’s a good idea, why not pay homage to the people that inspire me on a daily basis.  So I hope you might also enjoy having a look through some of the blogs I follow and have tagged throughout this poem, and enjoy them as much as I do.

**Please note some of these are Adult blogs so please take note of this when clicking through the last ones, however I figure if you read my writing then you might expect this anyway  😀

For all the Blogs I’ve read before

To join in with a poem prompt
Is always kinda fun
Yet sometimes I still draw a blank
Know where my time has gone

For if my mind is at a loss
and inspirations low
I often trawl the internet
or read through my fellow
writers blogs, their poetry,
smile at all their art
indulge myself in stories
catch up with the ‘next part’

I like to read the Darkside
Join Poetry 101
Catch up with what’s right
and see what’s going on

Take a lesson on life by Judy
Feel the beauty in Days of Stone
See Dewin for epic adventure
Find Jarrod if feeling alone

I often learn new things from Mille
Or sometimes I’m learning to cry
At times its exploring emotions
Or be whimsical just to say hi

I might enjoy freckles for breakfast
Want Bittersweet with some tea
Have a catch up with Vic for some music
Or be swept away by Ramsey

For book reviews I read Higbee
If short on time I see Blair
For 50 words I find Richard
or go giggle at a bear

For humour, I like Mara
George is always fun
I like to see what Drew writes
and know what Paul has done

Moonskittles shows creativeness
Nadine explores the soul
I visit woods when wistful
join in with joys of Joel

Friday there’s a SoCS prompt,
By Laura I’m inspired
Tosha gives me art & sound
And Shida I admire

A riddle from the middle
Can make me form a grin
A Mommas view shows what to do
Ashley explores within

For musical words visit Anja
Al gives a good point of view
Thoughts will be racing in Poesia
Moonworld has poetry too

Beautiful words lie on whispered winds
Verseherder has photo’s and facts
For escape from life have a crowned night
Now prepare for the final climax

To sail into adult waters
Peter will guide your way
For thoughts upon erotica
August will have something to say

Ava gives out naughty tips
Sweet Violet is online
Life blooms from petals unfolding
Wet bliss is just divine

And these are just a handful
of blogs which I’d trade time
to read, and so no wonder
my hours got lost this rhyme

*Also if you are not included and I follow your blog don’t worry I still love your work, I just noticed the poem was getting rather too long and my eyes are needing matchsticks to keep them open. Keep writing and having fun with your words  🙂
