Writers Block

Costa is King

Quite possibly the largest number of singletons or loners found within one group at any one time. This quaint little coffee shop, a hive of activity for writers and readers alike. They swarm from trains and buses, tumble in from the street to find themselves a lone corner or quiet table from which to write their lives on the pages. Words conjoining to find meaning within inked lines, a master watching the beauty, as they swirl into being, taking form in their growth. Gnashing and gnarling, devouring everything in proximity before their inevitable death; then a refill of espresso to help the writer’s block.

Writers Niggle

I’m lost with days
I just don’t know
If I should come
Or I should go
It’s been three days
Since I last slept
It’s clear my brain
Now seems inept
It’s floating now
a caffeine haze
Neurons firing
Thoughts ablaze
Letters jumbled
Words in fog
Lips are twitching
Eyes agog
Something stirring
Feeling near
Try to focus
All that fear
I know it’s stuck
Inside my head
But please I need
To go to bed.

SoCS – Ha!

Ha ha ha and he he he
Come little halfling
Dance with me

Thinking of words beginning with Ha in this type of situation seems more difficult that it should be. And I might have written a little rhyme but I’m fairly sure that I shouldn’t use it anywhere out of the realms of fantasy writing, too much Game of Thrones reading I guess.

If I only had half the time to think up words which have a ha would it make it harder or not I wonder. After having a few minutes to decide this then I have to admit that it would, in fact I am struggling to think, even though I know that there should be a number of these words available, maybe I should make it more of a habit to scour a dictionary every once in a while.

Disregarding the Ha for a moment though, I am currently typing on Written, kitten which I assumed would bring up a cute little cat picture every 100 words, however it appears what I have is a headless female singer image, am I missing something here? is there a singer called kitty that I should know about and I don’t. Oh yep apparently I guess I should because this next picture is also headless female with a guy holding a guitar hmmm

After changing the choice from kitten to puppy I wonder what will surface next on the images and I guess that if they scour the internet using these terms for pictures then I should at least be grateful that there wasnt a more warped tagging of pictures. So now all I have to do it type out another fourteen words in order to see if my writing can produce a puppy or…

OK I guess we shall go with not then … awww  😦

Work in progress

You sit

Surrounded by books

In a chair stained with coffee

Eyelids heavy with the weight of expectation

The floor around you, scattered with scrunched up paper

Signs of a fevered mind, the scribbles of ingenuity, exasperation

Three mugs perched on your desk holding the remnants of last night’s fuel

Yet your words are exhausted, there is but one solitary sentence

Jeering at you from the scraps of an old torn envelope

Your fingertips trace the ink’s indentation

Then you smile, contentedly

You sleep.

Page Rage

The page screams at me,

blinding light that deafens the soul

my weakness turning to obstinacy

Β

I scramble through the thoughts

Rehash the tears

Extrapolating the emotionsΒ

Trapped in pockets of hearts

Β

Pure glowing light, covered by words

Punched by grammar

Spritzed with sentimentality

Β

Blank space you cannot win!

You will be ambushed by my nouns

Lashed by my tongue

Pulverized by poetry

Β

Hear this empty page – I do not fear you
