Disposition of Two

It lay, soft and forlorn
Pressed tight against her leg
Breath held as she tried to ignore

They sat, squashed,
sweating onto her thigh
The clammy warmth unsettling

The prevented tense, became a shuffle
A grimace in the dark, as she turned
Their awkward alliance brushed aside
Pulled apart in silence
Left, to not discuss another day.

  1. Hey Ginni,

Prose, pose, and poise all balanced beautifully on the turn of the very next line. I loved the pressing weight of awkward silence contrasting with the eagerness of fervent anticipation: the tension is almost palpable!

Hoping all is well in Ginni-ville 🙂

    Have a wonderful week!

    Namaste

    1. *waves* I did make a reply to this earlier but I was on a tablet and the whole reply got wiped after taking ages to type out with one finger and much scree flipped grr.
Anyhow all is well now and I hope your Epic is gathering speed happily so we get to curl up with another installment soon 🙂

      1. Hey Ginni,

That’s very kind, thank you….the writing of Chapter 5 Act 2 is on schedule to be concluded over the coming weekend. I thought perhaps I may have ‘finished’ it already but I was gifted with a sign late last week that has encouraged me onwards a little further 🙂

Sorry to hear you lost the reply due to technical difficulties: darn that gremlin in the machine! 🙂 When will they consider infallibility an option at the design stage?

Take care Ginni and happy writing! 🙂

        Namaste
